Fishing Report -- 03-31-12
David and the two boys Anton and Douggie joined me for a day of just trying to catch anything that swims. Being that Anton is 6 years old I was figuring that he would get bored fairly quickly and that the day on the water was going to be a short one. Although Douggie is twelve (I think ?) I figured he too would probably be throwing the towel in early. Man, was I in for a surprise. The day started with Anton catching his first Snook and David having an interesting run in with a bird that got tangled in his line. End result was Anton landed his Snook. David landed his bird and both were released alive & well. We then figured we’d head out into the ocean and see what we could see. Pretty quickly we were into the Spanish Mackerel with everyone getting fish. Next were Pompano, Ladyfish, Blue Fish, Barracuda and more Snook. Throughout the day the boys remained interested and just soaked up the whole experience. What a pleasure to see youngsters who really love to fish. When I dropped them off at the dock late afternoon I’m sure they would have kept fishing until the sun went down. They’ll be back fishing with me again soon and we’ll be increasing the size of the fish we’ll be targeting, you boys had better be doing your sit ups and push ups!
