Fishing Report -- 09-14-13

Michael and Terrence were on board to do some Snook fishing. From the pictures you probably noticed that things didn’t quite go as planned. The Snook bite was really off with only one small Snook landed by Michael. Finally we switched tactics and found some very cooperative Tarpon. Michael and Terrence both landed two Tarpon each with both Michael & Terrence landing fish in the 100 lb class. To make things really interesting the big Tarpon were both on at the same time, good angling to land both those fish. Not a bad night for a plan B.

Fishing Report -- 09-11-13

Tonight’s trip was a result of what happens when a good fly angler meets good conditions and somewhat cooperative fish. 14 Snook were landed on fly. The biggest was 36 inches, a very nice fish for nighttime dock light fishing. Andrew had to work for these fish, they weren’t just jumping on the fly as they sometimes do. Patience and continued good casting lead to this great result. We’ll see if we can better this next time.

Fishing Report -- 09-03-13 & 09-04-13

Had a very full boat with Tom, Chuck, Adam & Bo. Snook was the order of business. Catching live bait was a little tough and we didn’t get any really decent big baits but luckily the Snook were eating the baits we did catch. 6 overslot sized Snook, 3 slot Snook and a bunch of under slot sized Snook were landed. Also caught were a bunch of nice big Ladyfish and some medium Jacks. Bo landed the biggest fish of the trip being a 35 lb Tarpon. Soon the concentration of summertime Snook will be out of the inlet, it was nice to get on them here for a few days before they are gone.

Fishing Report -- 09-02-13

Another day with perfect conditions, this is the best Labor Day weekend weather wise that I can remember. Josh was the lucky angler today. Just fly fishing. Started in the dark on the Snook. Snook were cooperating nicely with Josh getting 9 to the boat before the sun came up. Next were the False Albacore (Bonitos), pretty much all the fish he wanted to catch with a nice bonus of a Cobia thrown in. Pushed off shore to look for Dolphin, little slow but finally did find a few small fish, boated two. Another fantastic day of saltwater fly fishing.

Fishing Report -- 08-30-13

Finally we got some real summertime weather i.e. calm winds & calm seas. Eric was the lucky angler to get the perfect conditions. Just fly fishing today. Started in the dark by targeting Snook on the dock lights. Eric got two real nice docklight size Snook and about 6 other typical sized Snook. Once the sun was up headed into the ocean and got all the False Albacore(Bonitos) he wanted, think round 25 of so. To change things up pushed way offshore looking for Dolphin, managed to get 10, no big fish but fun on fly none the less. On the way back in caught a few more Albies and called it a day, actually we called it a fantastic day.
